The AIOBLE App Contest
Submission Terms
Version 2026-10-20
These terms apply to anything you send AIOBLE through the contest entry form at aioble.com/ideas (your “submission”). They are part of the Official Rules. We wrote them to be read, because the whole contest rests on one promise: your idea stays yours.
1. You keep your idea
Submitting does not transfer ownership of your idea, your writing, your designs or anything else in your submission to AIOBLE. You own what you own before you submit, and you own it after.
2. What you let us do
By submitting, you grant AIOBLE a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to receive, store, read, copy for internal use, review, evaluate and discuss your submission within AIOBLE, for the purpose of running the contest and deciding whether to offer you an agreement. That is the whole licence. It does not include the right to build, publish, sell or otherwise commercially use your submission.
3. What we will not do without an agreement
AIOBLE will not develop, publish or commercialize an app based on your submission unless you and AIOBLE have signed a written development and revenue-share agreement covering it. If you are selected and we do not reach agreement, the licence in section 2 ends and we keep a copy of your entry only as a record of the contest.
4. Similar ideas, and why we have to say this
AIOBLE builds software for a living. We may already be working on, or may later independently come up with, products, features or ideas that are similar to yours, and so may our clients. Your submission does not give you any rights over those, and AIOBLE does not owe you anything for them, provided they were not built from your submission in breach of section 3. We say this plainly because it is the one place where a generous contest and an honest company could otherwise collide.
5. Submissions are not confidential
Please do not send anything you need kept secret. AIOBLE does not accept your submission in confidence and has no obligation to keep it confidential, though in practice we treat entries with ordinary care and do not publish them. If an idea only works if it stays secret until launch, describe it at the level you are comfortable with and keep the rest for the agreement stage, where confidentiality can be handled properly.
6. What you promise us
- · The submission is your own work, or you have the right to submit every part of it, and it does not knowingly copy or infringe anyone else's idea, design, code, trademark or other rights.
- · It contains no confidential information belonging to someone else (for example, a current or former employer), and no personal data about other people.
- · You are 18 or older and a legal resident of the United States, and if you enter for a company, you are authorized to bind it to these terms.
- · Nothing in it is unlawful, and it is not subject to any agreement that would prevent you from entering.
7. If you are selected
The development and revenue-share agreement will replace these terms for the selected idea. It will set out, among other things, your revenue share and how it is calculated and paid, who owns what each party contributes, your role in the build, confidentiality, and how either party can end the arrangement. You should read it carefully and may have a lawyer review it before signing. Until it is signed, these terms continue to apply.
8. Feedback and ideas outside the contest
These terms cover contest entries. If you want to hire AIOBLE to build something for you, that is a separate conversation under a separate agreement, and you should contact us rather than enter the contest.
9. Withdrawal and deletion
You may withdraw your entry at any time before selection by emailing ideas@aioble.com from the address you entered with. You may ask us to delete your entry at any time; we will do so except for the minimum record needed to document that the contest was run fairly.
10. The usual
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stands. AIOBLE may update these terms for future submissions by posting a new version here with a new version date; the version you agreed to is recorded with your entry and sent to you in your confirmation email.
